What is the 21st Century Grant?
We are so excited that seven of our schools have received the 21st Century Grant that will allow students who attend the program to attend for free. However, due to this budget, the enrollment numbers are limited. Criteria will have to be met for students to be enrolled in to the program. The criteria are located in the registration form. Please complete the registration form and return to the front office of your child’s campus.
What age students does PACE serve?
RISD PACE Programs will serve students from Kindergarten until the student has completed 6th grade.
When does the program begin?
The PACE After School Program will begin on the first day of school. PACE operates on the same calendar as its school.
Junior High programs will begin September 15, registration forms will be available on campuses starting September 2.
What does a typical day in PACE look like?
3:00-3:30 Check-In, Snack, Restroom break
3:30-4:00 Homework Help - There is no guarantee that all homework will be completed during the program, although it is our goal.
4:00-4:40 Educational Centers
4:40-5:20 Physical Activity
5:20-6:00 Specialized Classes such as keyboarding, dance, service learning, basketball and robotics...just to name a few.
Does my child have to enroll for all 5 days each week?
A child may enroll for less than 5 days in a fee based school if the parent indicates the specific days the child will attend at the time of registration. The child may only attend on the days specified. For campuses that have the 21st Century grant, it is a requirement for the student to attend all five days.
Are unscheduled drop-ins allowed?
No. Unfortunately, PACE cannot allow unscheduled drop-ins. A child may attend PACE only on the days circled on the registration card.
Where do I register my child?
Registration forms may be turned in at anytime to the front office of your child’s campus. However, for an August 24th start date, we must have all forms in by June 4, 2009. After June 4th, there is not a guarantee of a start day for the first day of school.
When and how do I pay?
Payments are due on Mondays at your child’s school location. PACE After School Programs accepts cash, check, money order or online banking. Please make checks payable to your PACE plus the name of your campus. Ex. PACE-(your campus name). A $10 late payment fee will be charged if all fees are not paid by the Wednesday after the due date. RISD will charge a $20 fee for checks returned for insufficient funds (NSF.) NSF checks must be cleared no later than 10 days after RISD notifies a parent of a NSF check. Checks will not be accepted from a parent who gives RISD more than one insufficient check. Payments must then be by cash or money order.
