RISD Seniors Plan
For Their Future
  • All-Apply-1
  • All-Apply-2
  • All-Apply-3
  • All-Apply-4
  • All-Apply-5
  • All-Apply-6

Richardson ISD is dedicated to ensuring that all students carry out the district vision of Connect, Learn, Grow and Succeed. In the spirit of this effort, all four high schools held an All-Apply event to make certain all seniors graduate with a clear idea of their next step in life.

High school counselors, college career coordinators and campus administrators worked with current seniors to ensure they had a solid idea of where they are in their college admissions process.  The day was designed to meet the needs of seniors as they transition from K-12 to post-secondary education, with an overall goal of ensuring students are provided time and access to support.

Seniors were given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a school counselor to receive personal assistance completing their college applications as well as receive guidance on their FAFSA, TAFSA and scholarship applications.  Texas Tech University and Richland College Admissions each had representatives available to meet with students, and high school counselors were available to meet one-on-one with students who are undecided with their post-secondary career education or training opportunities.

“We want to ensure that every senior has applied to college and completed the financial aid process,” said Paula Moore, Richardson High School Counselor. “Not every student may choose to attend college, but if they ultimately decide to attend, we want to guarantee they graduate with a plan in place.”

Overall, Richardson ISD has experienced monumental growth for the total number of students applying to college.  More than 84% of RISD graduating seniors have already submitted college applications and 46% have applied for federal financial aid.
This event helps move RISD closer to the district goal of having all students graduate with a plan for their future.
